Chinese Airport opens Male Only Security Gate

An airport in Guangzhou, China has opened special channels for male passengers as state media claim 'it's time for gentlemen to enjoy some privilege'.

Guangzhou Baiyun International airport, the third busiest airport in China has introduced special security check lanes for male passengers.

The airport claims that the new channels are to respect the customs of foreigners and people from various ethnic groups.

The airport claims the channel aims to improve its services and become more passenger friendly.

A staff member at the airport told reporters that one of the reasons for opening the male-only channel is to respect the customs of foreign tourists and people from various ethnic groups.

According to the airport's regulations, female passengers should only be checked by female security inspectors.
