A 13-year-old girl, Kumari Aradhama has died in Hyderabad, after she was forced to fast for 64 days as part of a community ritual of fasting during the holy period of chaturmas. 


Aradhana, who was studying in class 10 was made to observe ‘chaturmas’ fast to bring luck to the family, as her father, Laxmichand Sansadiya had suffered loss in jewelry business. 

She was on a liquid diet for the first two days and on the third night, her blood pressure dipped. The family took her to a private hospital where she was declared dead. 


Police is investing her death.
