Today, I am delighted to join millions across the world in celebrating King Sunny Ade as he marks his 70th birthday. He is one performer whose evergreen music livens up homes and daily make joyful thousands of music lovers across the world irrespective of creed or ethnicity.

For more than five decades, KSA has dominated the music scene such that kids who were listening to his songs in the 70s are still listening to him now that they are leaders in the political and socio-economic sphere of our country.

His highly captivating and philosophical lyrics are often irresistible as he renders them with his sonorous voice, accompanied with titillating dance steps, signature guitar tunes and other world class musical instruments.

I dare say that the "King" is a true gift of God to Nigeria and equally Nigeria's gift to the world. I salute his dexterity, excellence and inspirational musical career through which he continues to positively impact both present and upcoming generations as well as contributing immensely to nation building," he said.
