A python measuring 20ft (6m) has been killed at
the farm of Uganda President Yoweri Museveni in Kisozi, in the
central district of Gomba. Police shot the snake three times as it tried
to enter the farm where Mr Museveni keeps a herd of cattle.
The Daily Monitor quotes a policeman
explaining how the snake was killed: “We were terrified by such a huge and dangerous creature and that’s why
we had to kill it to secure our lives and protect the ‘big man’s’ cattle. One
bullet was shot in in head and the other two bullets in the abdomen.”
Mr Museveni keeps long-horned cows in the farm
that are traditionally herded by his ethnic Banyankore
tribe.
