The Presidency has debunked reports that President Muhammadu
Buhari will on Friday, September 9 meet with Newspaper editors at Presidential
Villa, Abuja. The spokesperson to the president on Media and Publicity, Garba
Shehu in series of tweets on Thursday revealed that no meeting has been scheduled;
rather the editors have been called together by the Media Office of the
presidency.
"There is no meeting for the Nigerian President with editors
on Friday. It is a security briefing. The upcoming meeting at 2pm on Friday,
September 9 with editors was called by the Media Office of the Presidency to offer
the media a confidential, off-the-record briefing by the intelligence community
on matters of the economy and security.
The letter of invitation did not say anything about
transportation and accommodation because none has been arranged. Tea and coffee
will however be served at the meeting, to last no more than two hours," he wrote.
