Unknown person poisons six siblings to death in Anambra

Ekwulumili community in Nnewi, Anambra State has been thrown into confusion since Saturday when six siblings died after eating poisoned food. The identity of the culprit is still unknown, while the parents of the deceased were said to have attempted to commit suicide since the tragedy struck.

A Facebook user, Ewenike Ogechukwu, who posted the pictures of the deceased on his wall, said the police had visited the scene of the incident and commenced investigation to unravel the person behind the death.

He wrote, “The children were poisoned by an unknown person through the food they kept at home in Ekwulumili, Anambra State. But serious investigation is in progress now, the victims must be figured out and not go on punished.”

“The town has been boiling since yesterday (Saturday). A family lost six children in what they deemed as food poisoning. The parents want to commit suicide. Please help us pass the information to the appropriate quarters,” Chidozie Venantius, another Facebook user said.

The Anambra State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ali Okechukwu, said he was not aware of the incident.
