Barely two days after Gambia put a ban on child marriage,
Tanzania has followed the big step. Tanzania's high court on Friday made
a landmark ruling setting the minimum age for marriage for
women at 18 years - the same as for men.
This is being seen as a major step towards combating
child marriage in the country.
The court ruled that a 1971 law saying that women could get
married at 15 was unconstitutional.
