The 32-year-old man, Odinaka Orji, who escaped being  lynched alongside his friend, 22-year-old Nonso Ejimene for trying to rape 6-year-old boy in Enugu State has said his wife left him due to his addicion to homosexualism.


The two men, Orji and Nonso Ejimene, 22, were, weekend, saved by operatives of Central Police Station, Enugu Police Command, from being lynched by a mob that accused them of sodomy at Coal Camp axis of Enugu metropolis.

They were already stripped naked by the mob before the security operatives intervened and took them into custody. They were accused of luring two six-year-old boys, simply identified as Chimezie and Sunday, into their room at 78, Industrial Area Coal Camp, and were at the point of having intercourse with them before the boys ran out and raised alarm. The suspects blamed Satan for their involvement in sodomy.

Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed their arrest in a statement, adding that "our men saved them from being lynched by the irate mob, following their involvement in sodomy. The mob had already stripped them naked before the security operatives of the Central Police Station, Enugu, intervened and took them into custody.

"One of the suspects, Odinaka, maintained that he is married but his wife has left him owing to these illicit activities which he blamed on Satan.

"According to him, he has visited many clergies to get him out of the activity without success. In the present case, he stated that he was on the verge of having an intercourse with a boy named Sunday, a barrow pusher, in his room when the boy ran out and raised alarm which attracted the mob that almost killed him."
