Rapper, Lil Wayne is reportedly being sued by American
Express over unpaid debts of almost $90,000. The credit card giants launched
the action after the dinky MC failed to settle his bill for more than half a
year.
According to TMZ, legal papers show the
33-year-old Got Money favourite is being sued for $86,396.75, as well as
attorneys' fees.
The documents also claimed that Lil Wayne has owed money
since December 2015. Last year he was ordered to pay up $2 million to a private
jet leasing company after he was found to have failed to stump up $1 million in
debts. As well as the original $1 million, he was told to pay $800,000 in
damages and an additional $200,000 in legal fees.
This week it emerged he is also being sued for allegedly
punching a bouncer in the face when trying to enter his own BET Awards
after-party at the Hyde nightclub in Los Angeles back in June.
