Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje  has burnt N10, 152, 800 worth of unwholesome products, confiscated by the state Consumer Protection Council. The items include cartons of chewing gums, biscuits and assorted confectionery products.

During a brief occasion held at the office premises of the Kano Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on Wednesday, Governor Ganduje described the seizure of the items as another major step in safe guarding public health in the state.

“You can imagine how many people would have been affected if these products were allowed be consumed and not seized”, the governor stated, noting that traders who market such products do not have good intentions for the citizens.

Observing that the items confiscated are from one market, Singer market in Kano city, with the support of the market leaders, Governor Ganduje urged market leaders across the state to assist the government in ensuring that only worthy products are sold to the public.
