So I’ve been getting a lot of requests on how to make your hair grow longer. Now you need to know that hair grows approximately ½ inch per month, for a total of six inches in one year. Ultimately though , the estimated time length for growing out the hair and reaching any hair length goal depends on two main factors:

Each individual person’s hair growth rate and their retention ability.

A faster hair grower will always reach their goals sooner than a slower grower if the retention rates are the same. A slower grower will reach their goals consistently over a faster grower who poorly retains their length. Two individuals may grow their hair at the same exact rate while only one reaches her hair goals consistently, this is an instance of an ends retention problem for one of the growers.

However with the right products and methods you can make your hair grow longer and faster.

Personally I never really stick to one product for my hair, I like to try different thingss. The only consistent thing I’ve used for my hair over the years is Shea butter, which I mix with other oils deepening  on my hair needs.

Making your own products at home is not only cost effective but gives you the liberty to add as many things and in whatever quantity you need for your hair.

So I did some digging and found a pretty simple recipe to help your hair grow longer.

This mixture calls for coconut oil, apricot kernel oil, and castor oil for the base.

This is a wonderful oil for all things hair. The fatty acids in coconut oil are ideal for moisturizing, help combat dandruff, and soothe the scalp. It easily absorbs into your hair, and has been used in tropical countries for maintaining beautiful hair for ages. I also use it as a skin moisturizer, for cooking… I love coconut oil! ? Here’s where you can find it at a great price.

I first learned about apricot kernel oil watching a documentary where the speaker told of how women would use this oil to keep their hair shiny, healthy, and beautiful. It is antibacterial and high in antioxidants as well as vitamin E. Be sure to buy cold-pressed, high quality apricot kernel oil.

Castor oil is renowned for helping to regrow hair. It increases scalp circulation if you massage with it, and strengthens your hair follicles. I have also gently rubbed a tiny bit of castor oil on my eyelashes at night for thicker eyelashes. I’m weird like that. ? You can find castor oil here.

I also added in several essential oils that are well-known for growing out hair. I’d recommend that you use a high quality, certified therapeutic grade essential oil for this; you’ll get the most bang for your buck. In addition, your scalp is very sensitive and will absorb things quickly and easily. Make sure you’re using the best. • 2 ounces coconut oil

  • 1 ounce castor oil

  • 1 ounce apricot kernel oil

  • 12 drops rosemary essential oil

  • 6 drops lavender essential oil

  • 6 drops peppermint essential oil

  • 6 drops clary sage essential oil

Other oils that are not ncluded but equally useful for hair growth are :

Thyme

Ylang ylang

Cedarwood

Ginger

Lemon

Grapefruit

You can switch out any of these oils, or add them. Use whatever you have on hand.

Equipment

1.Measuring cup

2.Glass container with lid – this type will work really well for you. I just washed a used essential oil bottle, and put the rest into a jar.

Instructions

This is so simple. Measure out all the ingredients into a measuring cup (one that shows ounces), and then pour into your container of choice. Shake well. That’s all!

Notes

You can use this on your scalp about half an hour before you shower. Add a few drops to your fingertips, and rub into your scalp to increase circulation. Leave for 30 minutes, and shampoo out.
As a moisturizer after you shower, you will comb your hair with a wide tooth comb, and then put 2 drops of this hair oil into your palms, rub them together, and then apply to the ends of your hair.
The oils used are well known for growing healthy hair. This mixture, due to the castor oil, is a thick one, and so believe me when I say, just a dab will do ya.

You can cover your pillow with a towel and leave the oil in your hair, and then wash it out the next day.

If you do apply a generous amount to your hair, washing it twice usually will get it all out. Everyone’s hair and water are different, so just do what works best for you.
