Arms Deal: Court adjourns Alex Badeh’s trial till Oct, 2016

 Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja has adjourned till Monday, October 10, 2016, for the continuation of trial in the prosecution of erstwhile Chief of Defense Staff, Alex Badeh.


One of the offences for which Badeh is being prosecuted by the EFCC alongside Iyalikam Nigeria Limited is for allegedly abusing his office by using the dollar equivalent of the sum of N1.4billion (One Billion, One Hundred Million Naira) removed from the accounts of the Nigerian Air Force to purchase properties in choice areas of Abuja between January and December, 2013 - an offence which contravenes Section 15 (2) (d) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011 (as amended) and punishable under Section 15(3) of the same Act.


The trial will run concurrently for three days till Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
