Nigeria U17 Head Coach, Manu Garba has expressed delight in
having players who excelled during this year’s NNPC/Shell Cup competition at
his screening exercise in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The NFF announced on Tuesday that outstanding
players from the NNPC/Shell Cup have been pencilled down for stern test at the
ongoing screening exercise, as the reigning world champions prepare for the
qualification series for 2017 Africa U17 Cup of Nations.
Selected from the leading youth football event are Kelvin
Amadi, Obinna Onyia (best goalkeeper) and Tari Joseph (most valuable player),
all from eventual champions Excel Education Centre, Port Harcourt, while Ismail
Ahmad (best midfield player) was picked from Government Science Secondary
School, Bauchi and Fatinikun Leke (most promising player) was selected from
Asegun Conprehensive High School, Ibadan.
FOSLA Academy, a renown football school based in Karshi,
Abuja and owned by former NFF president Sani Lulu Abdullahi, finished as
runner-up in this year’s competition. For its efforts, FOSLA is supplying Ejeh
Joseph, Onyeke Andrew (best defender) and Abraham Solomon (highest goal
