A floating school built in the swampy Makoko area of Lagos State has
collapsed. The building that provided classes to children on a lagoon caved in
on Tuesday during heavy rains.
It had been out of use since March and no-one was injured. The
58 students who had been taught there had been relocated to the main
school nearby, AP reports.
Architect Kunle Adeyemi said the building was a prototype
which had been used "intensively" over the last three years and
a new building would be constructed to replace it.
