Kidnappers abduct Delta Lawmaker's Wife, Demand N500m Ransom

Hoodlums have kidnapped the wife of a Delta State House of Assembly member, Cynthia Michel Diden, Mrs. Diden was said to have been kidnapped in Warri on Sunday.

Family sources who confided in SaharaReporters said the kidnappers contacted the family and demanded a ransom of N500 million. The figure was reduced to N200 million this morning.

"For now, nobody can give reasons for her kidnapping but we are suspecting that youths not happy with her husband could be behind the act. Before now, Cynthia resided in Abuja. But as we talk, we as a family and the security agencies are working round the clock to ensure that she is free unhurt," a family source said.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Celestina Kalu, said she had not been briefed and promised to get back to our reporter but never did.
