Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major-General Azubuike
Ihejirika (rtd.), has allegedly been arrested by operatives of the Department
of State Service (DSS).
Ihejirika was arrested late last night at his mega residence
in Maitama, Abuja, in connection with the arms purchase scandal for which
several former military and political chiefs are currently undergoing
investigation or trial, among them the immediate past National Security Adviser
(NSA) retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki, News Express reports.
He was arrested
after more than N400 million in cash and 12 cars were recovered
from his residence by DSS operatives. The cars include 2 Bentleys; 3 Range
Rovers; 2 Rolls Royce; 1 SLR; and 1 G-Wagon.
