Monday, May 2, has been declared a public holiday by Federal
Government to commemorate the celebration of 2016 Worker’s Day. The
Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau made the declaration on behalf of
the Federal Government of Nigeria in a statement signed by the Permanent
Secretary of the ministry, Bassey Okon Akpanyung on Thursday.
He commended Nigerian Workers for their resilience,
hard work and commitment to the Change Mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari
despite current challenges.
Dambazau enjoined them to continue to support the
President in his desire to fight corruption, ensure security of lives and
property and stabilize the economy through creation of jobs and diversification
of the economy.
While wishing Nigerian workers a joyful and peaceful
celebration, the minister urged them to re-dedicate themselves to the service
of the Nation and remain productive for the growth and development of the
country.
