A Federal High Court sitting in
Abuja on Friday denied the bail request from the leader of the Indigenous
People of Biafra and the director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
Justice John Tsoho, who heard the
case, ordered that Kanu should be remanded in prison custody on the ground that
the accused persons have not shown the court that they would not return to the
crime which they were alleged to have committed.
Kanu, David Nwawusi and Benjamin
Madubugwu are standing for alleged treasonable offences including planned
secession of Republic of Biafra from Nigeria.
The judge adjourned the trial
till February 9, 10, 11 and 12 for trial.
