Police officers in Ondo State have allegedly killed Aderonke Eze, a widow who owns a “mini bear parlor joint” close to her residence in Akure. Mrs. Eze, who lived at No. 1, Akinyemi Street, off Ijoka road, Sijuwade close in Akure, was slain with a gun butt by police officers from the Ala unit of the Oda Divisional Police Station of the Ondo State Command.

We must Mobilise Required Resources & Work Hard to be Finally Certified Polio-free, Buhari Tells Governors
President Muhammadu Buhari Monday in Abuja reaffirmed his determination to ensure that Nigeria is finally certified polio-free by 2017 and urged all Nigerians to join hands with the Federal Government to achieve the objective. Speaking at separate meetings with governors of polio-vulnerable states and members of the High-Level Advocacy Group, President Buhari said that to become permanently polio-free, Nigeria must build on its achievement of being polio-free for 12 months which was marked in July.
Aliko Dangote is set to build a $400m (£260m) cement plant in Zimbabwe, which will give a much-needed boost to the country's struggling economy. Work on the plant may start early next year if all the necessary approvals are received, the Nigerian billionaire told reporters after a meeting with President Robert Mugabe.

A pastor, Barkuma Andrew of United Methodist Church, Mafoluku, in the Oshodi area of Lagos was rejected and chased away by his members of the church for allegedly impregnating his housemaid. It was learnt that the pastor, was stopped from leading the church seven months ago when the housemaid, who was also a member of the church, Grace, had complications after aborting the pregnancy.
Two men identified as, Joshua Kolawole and Ademola Adeleke have been arraigned before a Chief Magistrates’ Court, Yaba, Lagos by the police for allegedly impersonating a Christ Apostolic Church pastor and defrauding a restaurateur in Yaba, Lagos. Kolawole and Adeleke were said to have defrauded a restaurant manager, one Kehinde Sulaimon on August 6, 2015. On the day of the incident, Kolawole was said to have disguised as a pastor, while Sulaimon posed as another victim.

The duo of Peter and Paul Okoye of P-Square got involved in an accident today on their way from a show in Ibadan, Oyo state. A lorry hit their Range Rover SUV and dragged the for over 12 seconds before leaving the car beside the road. According to Peter, it was act of God's grace that they survived.

Following the poor sales of his weekly newspaper and magazine, a publisher identified as Solomon, on Friday, allegedly committed suicide in Asaba, Delta State. The publisher, who resided in Achalla Layout area of Asaba, took his life in anguish following the advent of poor sales in his newspaper business.
Following today’s retrial verdict in Cairo, Al Jazeera Media Network’s Acting Director General Dr Mostefa Souag said:
"Today's verdict defies logic and common sense. Our colleagues Baher Mohamed and Mohamed Fahmy will now have to return to prison, and Peter Greste is sentenced in absentia."

The three al-Jazeera journalists convicted in Egypt of "spreading false news" have been sentenced to three years in prison at their retrial in Cairo. Canadian-Egyptian Mohamed Fahmy and Egyptian Baher Mohamed were in court to hear the verdict. Australian Peter Greste was deported to Australia earlier this year and was on trial again in absentia.
