Boko Haram Attacks Popular Market, Kill Dozens in Borno

Boko Haram struck again on Friday at a market in Mainok village of Kaga local government of Borno state and killed at the least a dozen traders.  Witnesses and security operatives said a large number of Boko Haram terrorists invaded the town Friday afternoon and began shooting sporadically. Many people were killed in the process while several others were seriously injured.

Naira Weakens More Sells at N224 to Dollar

The Naira on Friday weakened further as it sold at N224 against the dollar at the Bureau de Change (BDC). The Naira also exchanged against the dollar at N220 at the black market. But, the currency traded N199 to a dollar at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), NAN reports.

Libyan Aircraft Crashes in Tunisia

An aircraft from Libyan forces controlling Tripoli crashed near the Tunisian border and may have been shot down, Tunisia's state news agency TAP reported on Friday. The aircraft went down 5 kilometers from the frontier inside Libya, TAP said, but did not provide any further details.

Boko Haram Kills Senior Army Officer in Cameroon

The senior Cmeroonian soldier, Captain Mbene Matute, was killed by Boko Haram militants during a battle with Boko Haram members on Wednesday Feb 25, 2015.
