Boko Haram struck again on Friday at a market in Mainok village of Kaga local government of Borno state and killed at the least a dozen traders. Witnesses and security operatives said a large number of Boko Haram terrorists invaded the town Friday afternoon and began shooting sporadically. Many people were killed in the process while several others were seriously injured.

The Naira on Friday weakened further as it sold at N224 against the dollar at the Bureau de Change (BDC). The Naira also exchanged against the dollar at N220 at the black market. But, the currency traded N199 to a dollar at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), NAN reports.

It was almost unbelievable when unknown gunmen on Wednesday invaded a traffic control post and shot dead a police traffic personnel. The gunmen trailed the traffic personnel from where he went to take cover from the rain and riddled him with bullets as he resumed duty.

The Asagba of Asaba, Delta State, Prof. Chike Edozien, on Friday re-affirmed his endorsement for the candidacy of President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term. Few hours ago, a suicide bomber killed himself and some passengers at Tashan Gandu, a popular motor park in Biu town of Borno State. Another suicide bomber was however shot dead by security operatives before he could reach his target at the vicinity of the same bus station.
