Reverend Paul Emeka, a former General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Church will be arraigned in court on December 1, 2015 over forgery. He allegedly forged his Professorial certificate from the University of Derby, Derbyshire, England, which he used to get his appointment as a member of Board of Trustees of the church.

The Reverend is expected to be arraigned before an Upper Area Court of the Federal Capital Territory over the allegation on December 1, 2015.

This is following the criminal complaint filed by the church to the court, through its counsel, Barrister Ifeanyichukwu Obasi-Nweze. The complaint has it that Rev. Emeka presented himself to the church as a professor from University of Derby, Derbyshire, England and based on that he was promoted to become a member of the Board of Trustees of the church.

The church further said that sometime in January 15, 2015, after investigating his professorial certificate found out that it was forged.

According to the document made available to newsmen, the university said there is no record of any Paul Emeka in the University’s Conferment Committee Archives.

Following the discovery of the church, the Reverend was removed as a member of Board of Trustee and also reported the matter to the police for investigation and prosecution.

The police has however completed their investigation into the matter and are expected to appear before the court on December 1, 2015 with the report when Rev. Emeka is also expected to be arraigned.
