A Russian plane hours ago crash in Egypt killing all 224
people on board. None of those on board
survived the crash, according to Egyptian officials.
There had been previous reports from the crash site in the
mountains of Sinai that voices could be heard from one part of the wreckage. However,
officials have now said that everyone on board, including 17 children, died in
the crash.
The Airbus A-321 aircraft was carrying 217 passengers and
seven crew members and took off from popular tourist destination Sharm
el-Sheikh. The plane, operated by small Russian airline Kogalymavia and branded
as Metrojet, was heading for St Petersburg in Russia. Of the passengers on
board, 214 were Russian and three were Ukrainian.
The plane disappeared from radar screens 23 minutes after
its take-off time of 5:51am.
