Fidelity Bank Plc,
one of Nigeria's leading banks, has been adjudged as the best bank to work for
in Nigeria. In a recent study conducted by Venture Africa, an online platform
for news and analysis about African businesses, in conjunction with Jobberman.com, Nigeria’s leading employment
website, Fidelity Bank Plc., is the only bank among the top 12 most preferred
places to work in Nigeria.
The report tagged "Top 100 companies for Nigerian millennials" surveyed young Nigerians born
between 1982 and 2003 and measured company culture, dream-company, staff
welfare, gender equality, government institution, company’s prestige, salary,
and non-salary benefits. It also looked at the level of satisfaction, salary
consideration, level of contentment, career growth, concerns outside work and
work-life balance amongst others.
According to the
organizers, Fidelity led all other banks in the country in all the measuring
indices.
In a statement, Managing Director/Chief
Executive Officer, Fidelity Bank Plc, Nnamdi Okonkwo said that the development
is a testament to the bank’s robust human capital management policies which
focuses on enhancing the lives and wellbeing of employees. He explained that
Fidelity places a premium in supporting and rewarding the performance of its
people. "We are proud to be honoured, especially because of our strong
initiative and focus not only on staff welfare but also on the wellbeing of
their families".
Okonkwo
alluded to the great work the bank has done in making Fidelity Bank a great
workplace. Citing the Great Place To Work (GPTW) studies conducted in more than
44 countries and 4,500 organizations, which had seen corporations like Google,
Goldman Sachs and Microsoft emerge as winners together with Fidelity, Okonkwo
said that he is proud that Fidelity Bank belongs to this league having won the
award on two occasions.
For instance, last year, Fidelity Bank was
voted the 2nd Best Place to Work in Nigeria by the GPTW, a US-based global
research agency with operations in more than 40 countries across the world. The
year before, the bank was voted the 5th Best Place to Work in Nigeria, 2nd
among rated banks and 3rd among all rated indigenous organizations in Nigeria.
