The burial of eight students of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun state, who were involved in Ogun auto crash have started. Those buried on Saturday were the driver of the commercial bus, Lukman Adekeye, and two students of OOU, Dare Olatunji Michael, and Aminat Adebayo.


Three out of the eight victims were buried on Friday. Today and Tuesday have been declared lecture-free days in the school to mourn the deceased students.

The victims were Odubanjo Eunice Oluwadamilola, 200-level Political Science; Ogunnoiki Omolade Mariam, 100-level, History; Aribiola Yetunde Elizabeth, 100-level Biochemistry; Adams Suliat Oluwatobi, 100-level Accounting; Funmilayo Latifat, 100-level Chemical Science; Asade Christianah Ibukun, 200-level Law; and Dairo Olatunji Michael, a graduate of Physics.

The only survivor, Akinbo Laughter Ibukun, is a 300-level Chemistry student of the same institution.

The accident occurred on Friday at Ilishan Junction along Sagamu/Benin Expressway. It will be recalled that a truck laden with a container, whose driver drove against traffic had a head-on collision with a commercial bus conveying the OOU students and some other passengers. Twelve people died on the spot. Eight of them were OOU students.
