I am filled with tears. I could have done this all this while, but I didn't know how to start, but I must do it. My uncle, good in-law, and a brother - he was all to us, Mr. Edwin Obioma Enyia was murdered on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.

He was butchered in cold blood by his kinsman, Chief Sylvester Ezegbulam Nwulu over a small portion of landed property. The land was located at the central area of their hometown, Umuode Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia state, and has been in dispute between the Enyia's family and Nwaulu's for many years. Of course they share same compound.

On that fateful day, late Edwin, being the youngest in Enyia's family was called by his brothers to return from Port Harcourt, where he worked tirelessly over the years to give all his six children proper education. He returned to help start the construction of a shop in that small portion, but met his untimely death.

He was supervising the workers, when Chief Ezegbulam, who was late Edwin's Best Man during his wedding in 1980, came with his nephews, chased the workers away and butchered late Edwin with knives and shovels, left his half-dead body and ran away. At the wee-hour of that Wednesday, his wife, Mrs Iwelie Enyia a teacher, had gone to school, while all his children had gone to the their various universities after the weekend. So, he was totally alone.

However, passersby saw him in pool of his own blood and managed to rush him to the hospital, but too late he bled to death.

Before attacking Edwin on March 18, Ezegbulum had consistently threatened to kill him for seven years, eventually he succeeded. It has been all tears and hard to endure. After few days of fervent search, Ezegbulum and his nephews were arrested. The case is ongoing, but the family was directed to bury him after the postmortem.

He left behind, his wife (my mother's sister), Mrs Iwelie Enyia, six children (my cousins), Nkiru Enyia, Ugonna Enyia, Enyioma Enyia, Ezenwanyi Enyia, Nnaemeka Enyia and Uchechi Enyia. He will be buried on Friday, July 3, 2015. So hard to endure!
