The kidnapped former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology (FUTA), Ondo state, Prof. Albert Ilemobade is dead, and his decomposed body found in his home. Prof. Ilemobade's  ‎body was found dead on Sunday afternoon at "an abandoned store" inside his compound at Ilaje street, Ijapo Estate in Akure.

‎An Anglican Bishop and close friend to the family, Stephen Ayo-Fagbami told a Saharareporters that Prof. Ilemobade's dead body was found "rotten" in a store, a small isolated room outside the building of the compound where cables are packed at the early hours of Sunday morning.

Ayo-Fagbemi said the decomposed body of the kidnapped FUTA Ex-Vice Chancellor had already been deposited at the state hospital morgue.

"Prof. Ilemobade's remain was found this morning inside the store and had already rotten. This is a sad development to the family. The Police has arrested two persons in connection with the incident and I believe the investigation would commence immediately".

According to the Police source, the gateman of the deceased believed to have been kidnapped was part of the arrested suspects. "You reported that his gateman was kidnapped alongside with him, but it was him (gateman) that organized for killing the Prof.", said a fierce looking Police officer.

It was alleged that Prof. Ilemobade might have been killed because he just bought a new vehicle. "Papa bought a vehicle just of recent and since then we have gotten information that they want to steal that vehicle from him.  Earlier this year, he was trailed by some unknown persons who want to forcefully snatched his vehicle from him, but he escaped. I think it was that vehicle that they wanted to sell. I can't imagine that our gateman was even the brain behind this sad event. Papa like this gateman to the extent that he takes him as his son. Now he (gateman) has been arrested and currently with the Police".

It was gathered that the vehicle was recovered from Ogun state by security officials.
