At least four persons were reportedly injured with one losing a whole arm in the explosion, witnesses disclosed. The blast occurred at a market called Kasuwan-Gamboru near the headquarters of the Nigeria Customs Service.

An eyewitness said the bomb exploded at about 1pm when most of the traders were gearing up for the day’s business. According Hasimu Bello, the bomb must have been buried on the spot the previous day.

"It was suspected to have been buried near the spot where charcoal traders use to sell coals. But we are believing that they buried the explosives maybe yesterday. Four persons sustained injury; but one has more serious injury because one of his arm was cut off by the bomb," he informed.
