Unknown gunmen believed to be members of Boko Haram sect have allegedly attacked the convoy of the governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako. The ugly incident occurred early today at Shuwari area of the State, as the governor was returning from paying a condolence visit to victims of Boko Haram attacks two days ago. The governor was said to have escaped unhurt in an escort vehicle. No casualties were recorded on the attack on the governor’s convoy.

A man suspected to be a Boko Haram kingpin on a mission to unleash terror in Benue State has been nabbed by men of the state police command in Makurdi. The special adviser to Governor Gabriel Suswam on media, Dr Cletus Akwaya, said the suspected terrorist was arrested on Tuesday. It stated that “the Boko Haram agent (name withheld), a Fulani, who hails from Taraba State, was arrested by the police at the Kanshio area of Makurdi following a tip-off.
Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday fixed March 21 to hear a motion filed by the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, seeking enforcement of his fundamental right. Lamido had filed the suit through his counsel, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo (SAN), seeking an order restraining the police and officers of the State Security Service (SSS) from arresting, detaining or otherwise harassing him. Joined as first to third respondents in the suit are: The Attorney General of the Federation, Inspector General of Police and the SSS.

Last night, news filtered that Michika town in Adamawa was under siege, as members of Boko Haram attacked residents. It has been revealed that as a result of the attack, some residents of Michika town passed the night in the hills and nearby bushes, as the attackers arrived the town around 9p.m and unleash the mayhem for about five hours.

A shoe-maker identified as Zakky Muhammed, who operates in Ilah area of Asaba, Delta State, has allegedly pummelled one of his customers to death with a hammer over the victim’s inability to pay his outstanding debts. The cobbler allegedly committed the crime at the weekend after a prolonged argument with the customer, who blatantly refused to pay an outstanding debt of N2,000. The argument was said to have degenerated into a fight, during which the cobbler used a hammer on the late customer’s head.

Suspected Boko Haram gunmen, on early hours of today Tuesday Feb 25 attacked students of the Federal Government College Buni-Yadi, Yobe, killing 29 students. Some buildings in the school were also reportedly razed. Sources at the school said the men invaded the school in the early hours of this morning while the students were still sleeping in their hostels and slaughtered them.
