Nigeria Super Eagles’ coach, Stephen Keshi, has denied
reports that Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has offered him a N7 million
($43, 284) monthly wage in a new contract due to take off. On Wednesday, it was
revealed that Keshi was offered N7 million monthly pay package with the coach
accepting it and the deal to be finalized next week.
However, Keshi has reportedly denied discussing a contract
with any Nigerian official either face-to-face or on phone but admitted talks
with NFF's Deji Tinubu.
“No! I have not
discussed anything with anybody! I left Nigeria before the Sallah break. I
didn’t speak with any of the committee members before I left and I haven’t spoken
with any of them on the matter since then,” he said.
“It was only Deji Tinubu who said they want me to continue
and I said fine; let them bring up their offer that I may see. That’s it. I don’t know where they came up
with N7 million offer from. I am not aware of that,” Keshi said.
