The Super Eagles of Nigeria have put their bonus row behind
them and will travel to Brasilia, ahead of their World Cup round of 16 game
against France on Monday. This is coming after President Goodluck Jonathan
intervened in the situation and assured the players that they would be paid
their outstanding allowances. The president spoke on phone with the players,
after Sports Minister Tamuno Danagogo informed him about the dispute.
The Super Eagles’ captain, Joseph Yobo confirmed this saying
that the team will travel to Brasilia today.
The squad boycotted training on Thursday and were locked in
discussions with officials over payment of their appearance fees by the Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF).
