According to Sanga local government Chairman in Kaduna, Mr Emmanuel Adamu, a 24 hour curfew has been placed on the area in the northern, following the killings of 76 villagers by unidentified gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen. The gunmen had killed 58 people at Kabamu Fadan Karshi and Nandu villages on Tuesday. There was again a fresh attack today, leading to the death 28 persons.

The attacks alleged by villagers to be carried out by men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have stirred up palpable tension both in the southern Kaduna area and the metropolis of Kaduna city.

"We can’t afford to lose more lives and that is why we called for curfew to be imposed in the area". He however urged the people to remain calm as security operatives were "on top of the situation".
