Adegoke also admitted that his gang killed the late Coordinator of the Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) in the South-West, Chief Yomi Bamgbose.

Adegoke said his gang did not intend to kill the VIO, but he proved stubborn when he struggled with him, saying one of his gang members was left with no choice than to shoot him.His words: “On the day of the incident, we had wanted to rob him (Bamgbose) of his car, but he proved stubborn as he engaged me in physical combat.”

Adegoke, 32, also confessed to other crimes, adding that he had been into armed robbery for over seven years.

Like many others before him, he blamed the devil for leading him into armed robbery, confessing that he had lost count of the number of policemen he killed.

“I cannot recall the number of policemen I have killed since I became an armed robber but to cut it short, I have killed many policemen. We were also responsible for the killing of the former Ogun VIO boss but I was not the one that shot him,” he said.

Adegoke also revealed that his gang was also responsible for snatching of various vehicles at gunpoint in the South-West, Kwara and Kogi states.

The state Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, said Adegoke was a cohort of the recently arrested robbery kingpin, Abiodun Egunjobi (a.k.a.Godogodo) adding that he and his gang had been responsible for numerous armed robbery attacks in the South-West part of Nigeria.
