The fight
between CAF and management of Rangers
International F.C of Enugu appears to have deepened as Rangers has concluded plans to take its
disqualification from this year’s CAF Confederation cup to the Court of
Arbitration for Sports (C.A.S) in Switzerland. Rangers have insisted that they
will appeal their elimination by CAF at CAS.
They tagged
the incident a miscarriage of justice, Rangers insisted that they will not rest
till they are justifiably heard.
CAF disqualified
the Nigerian club from the second-tier Confederation Cup on the basis that it
fielded an ineligible player, its goalkeeper, Daniel Emmanuel, in their final
qualifier against CS Sfaxien of Tunisia. As a result of the ruling, Sfaxien
replaced the Nigerian club in the mini-league stage of the Confederation Cup.
