The high hopes of fans and well wishers of top actress and producer Rita Dominic were dropped low on early hours of Sunday, April 21 when South African actress Florence Masebe was announced the Best Actress in Africa for her role in the Mozambique film entitled, Elelwani instead of Rita for her role in The Meeting. 



Before the awards which held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state it was rumored in and outside the entertainment cycle that the Imo state born actress might have a chance of winning the award in this category back to back, having taken the plaque home last year.

 Florence Masebe is a South African actress and television presenter best known for her role as Humbulani in the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, from 2004-2009. Florence was born in Limpopo. From humble beginnings she chose her path through the UCT Drama School and started acting professionally in 1993.
