At a time when fraudsters are bestowed with undeserved honour, the Friends of Friends event which took place at the Prince Lounge of the majestic Prince of Anthony hotel  on the evening of April 27 was, undoubtedly, a breath of fresh-air. Friends of Friends, an exclusive platform for celebrating excellence across multi-sectoral divides honoured Omo Omorodion, the Assistant Manager Niger Delta Petroleum Resources Limited.


On arrival, guests were  ushered to the  red carpet where the flashing lights of the waiting papparazi were poised to capture the moment. The guests, thereafter, went up to the posh Prince Lounge and the party began in full. The Lounge was filled with laughter and merriment as friends and well-wishers of Omo Omorodion danced, networked and socialised.
It was an upbeat  time as the oil and gas, insurance ‘ big boys’ collectively hailed their colleague whose sterling character and ‘Ubuntu’ philosophy had stood the test of time and trial. As a lawyer he has worked in many leading firms, traversing insurance, banking, technology and now, oil and gas. With a rare quotient for excellence, his inspiring achievement is  well documented, as he has risen through the ranks in recent years to become one of Nigeria’s most focused, enterprising and sought-after corporate lawyers and litigants. Dr Pius Ofulu , the MD,CEO Royal Exchange Healthcare Ltd and immediate past president Apapa Club acclaimed the virtues of the initiative saying- ‘Friends Of Friends’ has recognised a man true to his character and true to his person, a  man of talent and sustained dignity’.
It was indeed a glamorous and exciting time. The event was well attended by stars and corporate achievers alike. The diva, Yinka Davies was on hand  to grace the occasion  while the who-is-who in corporate Nigeria mingled freely in the relaxed and exclusive ambience of the Prince Lounge. Eleesha, a very promising singer crooned her way into the hearts of all present. Other performers include the sagacious Dumebi, Fmajor , Dude Tetsola  a host of others lined up to entertain the guests as they were given the usual first class treatment always on offer for guests of  the Prince Lounge.
Omo Omorodion  noted that ‘The award is not about the person but about the values the organisation is trying to project. The award is not about me but about those who made me who I am’. Mr Akin Adeoya the Chairman,1960 Hospitality group, also added that ‘the event was organised to bring to  limelight young achievers who are a source of inspiration  and role models to the upcoming generation.
